We are a community dance group based in Dartington, Devon, led by our community dance team.
Movement for Life delivers several projects - online and in-person for women, female carers and families. We play with movement that frees the joints, opens the heart & relaxes the mind.
We believe that movement matters, that everybody can dance and feel better for it.
Want to explore no-steps dance with community in South Devon?
You’re welcome as you are.
We’re grateful to have been supported by National Lottery Community Funding in various grants since 2019, along with Tescos Groundworks in 2022 and Devon County Council in 2023. Currently, we’re waiting to hear if our most recent National Lottery bid is successful. So, this term our projects do not have grant funding, we’ll try to accommodate as many bursaries as possible and appreciate all the full payments we receive.
One participant shares her experience of being part of the Movement for Well-Being Women’s Home Practice Group
"One of the most obvious benefits I experience in class is that I become present in my body and can access my feelings. Whether it's built-up anger, emotional pain, or even shame and frustration around tech and organisation, the class gives me a safe space to be with it all. Because it’s online, I can make noise if I need to without disturbing anyone, allowing emotions to move through me. It's really obvious how energised and light I feel afterwards in comparison. Such a relief."
